LETTUCE AND RADISH GROWN IN SINGLE CROP AND INTERCROPPING SYSTEMS UNDER DIFFERENT IRRIGATION WATER DEPTHS IN A PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT Vegetables intercropping of results in a better use natural resources, water, light, and nutrients, when properly managed. The objective this work was to evaluate the performance lettuce radish single crop systems under different irrigation water depths. experiment conducted protected environment at State University Maringá, Paraná, Brazil. A randomized block experimental design used 4×2 factorial arrangement, with four replications. first factor consisted depths (60%, 80%, 100%, 120% ETc), second two (single intercrop). drip system used, consisting constant table lysimeters. variables evaluated were: shoot fresh weight, root dry leaf area for crop; total diameter yield, efficiency, land efficiency index both crops. Shoot area, yield lettuce, increased as depth applied increased. Total diameter, were higher system. crops crop,
